The Nephilim and Giants of Genesis 6 (Cont.)

The Flood of Noah was necessary for the first destruction of the Giants. The second time, the sword of Israel was necessary. The date of the second outbreak was soon after it became known that the seed was to come through Abraham. In Genesis 15:18-21 they are mentioned and names amoung Canaanite people: "Kenites, and the Kenizzites, and the Kadmonites, and the Hittites, and the Perizzites, and the Rephaims, and the Amorites, and the Girgashites, and the Jebusites". In Deuteronomy 20:17 and Joshua 3:10 it states that they were to be cut off, driven out, and utterly destroyed. But Israel was not successful, as stated in Joshua 13:13; Ch. 15:63; Ch. 16:10; Ch. 17:18. Also in Judges 1:19, 20, 28, 29, 30-36; Ch. 2:1-5; Ch. 3:1-7. Some escaped to other countries, we do not know how many. All we know is that this time they were smaller in population and confined to Canaan. Evidence of their great strength is seen in "the giant cities of Bashan" and and also Egypt.

Also, we have the explanation of the origin of Greek Mythology.
  •  Genesis 6:4 "There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown."
Greek mythology grew out of the traditions, and memories, and legends of the doings of that mighty race. To the Greeks they refered to them as demi-gods.

The Babylonian "Creation Tablets", the Egyptian "Book of the dead" , and heathen Cosmogonies are all the corruptian and perversion of primative truths.
