The Nephilim and Giants of Genesis 6

Ne-phil-im, which means fallen ones, comes from the word naphal, to fall.

The offspring of the fallen angles, or Nephilim, with the daughters of Adam were giants in Genesis chapter 6. They were great is size, as well as in wickedness. They were superhuman, abnormal, and monstrous beings. Satan's plan is to disrupt the seed through which Jesus will come. The Nephilim left their habitation and came to Earth and took wives. For this they are already judged along with satan.

  • Jude 1:6 And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, He hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgement of the great day.
  • Matthew 24:38 For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriages, until the day that Noe entered into the ark,

The purpose of the Flood of Noah was too rid the land of these giants for the preservation of the human race, and for the faithfulness of the Word. Noah was the 8th generation from Adam, and he was also "perfect", meaning he and his family had not mixed with the Nephilim.
  • II Peter 2:5 "And spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth person, a preacher of righteousness, bring in the flood upon the world of the ungodly;"

  • Numbers 13:33 "And there we saw the giants, the sons of Anak, which come of the giants:" some may ask how can there still be Giants if they were all killed in the Flood. The answer is found in Genesis 6:4
  • Genesis 6:4 "There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown." After the Flood, there was a second influx of these fallen angels. This time they were known as "the nations of Caanan".

Images and documentaries are all over the internet if you search "Nephilim." One notable Giant is Goliath.
